How often is enough?

Penetration Testing is still very misunderstood by the customers looking to purchase the service. Many still view it as a once-a-year event and part of their compliance regime. In reality, as soon as anything changes in your environment or a new vulnerability is discovered, your last Pen Test becomes invalid.

The objective of a Pen Test is to provide assurance that what has been deployed will stand up to an attack. This is why little and often is fast becoming the accepted approach. Regular testing of externally exposed services, combined with scheduled internal Pen Testing, will increase cyber resilience and significantly reduce the risk of an attacker gaining entry.

Our Penetration Testing services will test your systems in a similar way to how a hacker will. We use reconnaissance and enumeration techniques to build a picture of your vulnerabilities and security posture. Once your system has been mapped we will attempt to exploit the discovered vulnerabilities so that we can establish a persistent foothold. Penetration Testing remains a common requirement for compliance regimes and is often a requirement when partnering with other organisations who insist on assuring their supply chain.

With Barrier, you can opt to pay for Pen Testing as and when you need it, or we can assess your needs across an annual schedule to create a fixed monthly payment scheme that provides on-going Pen Testing on a schedule and reports when you need them.

We conduct our penetration testing in alignment with the Penetration Testing Execution Standard (PTES). PTES is a standard that is designed to ensure a high quality baseline can be achieved for penetration testing across the security industry.
