Clinical Communication Tools for NHS Organisations
Exchanging sensitive information in a safe and compliant way doesn’t have to be complicated. This digital enablement platform facilitates secure communication with patients or colleagues for patient case evaluations and online treatment, flexibly using web or mobile apps, email and video.
Used by hundreds of thousands of healthcare professionals, ZIVVER is easy-to-use and helps ensure data always remains safe and compliant.
What is ZIVVER?
ZIVVER is a secure SAAS communication platform with the goal to provide organisations and users the comfort of safe communication. The platform and its end-user applications supports secure sharing of messages, images and all other types of files between users, users to guests (person using ZIVVER with person not using ZIVVER), guests to user and to and from systems via different out-of-the-box interfaces including SMTP or via the ZIVVER-API. The ZIVVER platform meets GDPR and UK data protection regulations.
ZIVVER’s Key Features:
Quickly Send Messages & Media
Allows users to send & receive messages, images, videos, documents, and other files and quickly find a person’s contact info to make a call. ZIVVER allows users to directly take photos or videos from its app. These images and videos will not be stored on the device. When the mobile apps are being used, users will have the option to receive push notifications for new messages.
Send Securely to Everyone
Makes it possible to send secure messages to guests that don’t have a ZIVVER account. Access for guests is protected with 2-factor authentication, a.o. through an SMS-code. Guests don’t need a ZIVVER account to access, read, download, forward or reply to messages.
Secure Guest Messaging
Provides functionalities to let guests securely initiate messages to users within organisations via so-called ‘Conversation Starters’.
Redact Messages After Sending
Provides users (and admins) the ability to retract sent messages, e.g. in case of an error, with direct insight into who has already read the message and/or accessed the file. Upon retraction, information is no longer accessible, giving the guarantee no data leak happened if a recipient did not access the message yet.
Full Data Encryption
Ensures all information sent via its platform is fully encrypted, where only sender and recipients have access to the data; ZIVVER does not hold the decryption keys. ZIVVER provides a ‘master-key’-construction allowing admins of organisations to log-in to the account of a user to, e.g. in case of forensic research, see the actual content of messages and files sent, with full logging and audit trailing.
Comprehensive Audit Trail
Provides a real-time and comprehensive audit log, accessible to users and administrators of the organisations. This information can be directly viewed and filtered from the ZIVVER web application and/or exported.
Strong Authentication & Single Sign-On
Users can only access ZIVVER via strong authentication. Logging-in is done via either SSO of the organisation (preferred) or password created by the user. In addition, access requires additional authentication, either already done by the SSO-provider (checked by ZIVVER via the SAML-authentication context variable), or otherwise by ZIVVER via sending a 2FA SMS-code or any (TOTP-based) authenticator app linked to ZIVVER.
Address Book Integration
Provides address book functionalities that allow users to easily find and communicate with contacts in the address book. Organisational address books are supported (which can be retrieved from the NHS.net address book) but also to let users create their own groups/address book.
Team Accounts & Shared Messaging
Provides the functionality to let users read and send messages from functional/team accounts like cardiology@hospitalX or info@hospitalY. Working from functional/team accounts is an essential part of clinical work that ZIVVER fully and securely supports. ZIVVER allows users to quickly switch to those functional accounts via their personal accounts, via the delegated access set-up by the organisation and include the appropriate logging, to have an audit trail of who had access to and read or wrote a message on behalf of that functional account.
Policy Driven Access to Data
With ZIVVER, those sharing information can determine who can have access to that data. In case this information is shared with someone with a ZIVVER account, the organisation this user belongs to can configure how to authenticate the user; either done by ZIVVER or by the SSO-service of the organisation. ZIVVER uses oAuth2 to authenticate people, so could also be integrated with other oAuth2 based services like NHS Login.
How else can ZIVVER be used?
ZIVVER can be used to send out questionnaires to e.g. let patients fill out pre-operative screening questionnaires, measure PROMS and/or home monitor patients. ZIVVER has a tool to easily define questionnaires, answer types and response flows to also support conditional question and response flows. These questionnaires can be sent by users by adding a questionnaire to a message or by a system (e.g. an EPR) upon a specific event.
ZIVVER is ISO27001 certified and has an ISMS in place that ensures the relevant checks and balances to ensure protection and continuity of its service.
ZIVVER’s Non-Essential digital service
ZIVVER offers video calls under the name ZIVVER Meet. This service provides a secure video solution to facilitate 1 on 1 meetings with a colleague, a patient or for group meetings up to 100 people. The connections for this service are fully encrypted and all data streams are being processed on data centres within the European Economic Area.
